Last week in our breakout rooms I shared with everyone in the group that I was pretty sure that I’m quite a few years older than most everyone in this class which means the internet was a new thing when I was growing up. We had six Mac computers in my elementary school library…… and […]

Using AI for the FIRST TIME!
This week I tried using AI for the first time! I thought I should film the process for this class, so behold, my reaction to ChatGPT! For those not wanting to watch a 12 minute video of me saying “wow” and “oh my goodness” repeatedly, here are the highlights. I found my way to ChatGPT … Continue reading Using AI for the FIRST TIME!

This week, I am working on two projects. I’ve started a Charmander for my oldest son, and a rainbow bunny for my youngest. Hopefully I will get something finished for next week, but here are some progress pictures 🙂 I decided to look at some phone apps for crochet – interestingly, there weren’t many

Continue readingNavigating the Digital Jungle
Hi everyone. I graduated high school in 2010. While internet and social media were present, it was nowhere near as big as it is now. However, I do recall talking about cyber safety in our schools. Much like sex, drugs, and alcohol, the teachers would often use the “fear” tactic while teaching the topic. We … Continue reading Navigating the Digital Jungle
Continue readingOur New Reality: Life On and Offline
When I was in middle school, the concept of digital citizenship was just ramping up. We were beginning to be allowed to bring our devices to listen to music with and being directed on appropriate times to do so. I remember most of our digital citizenship instruction was on when we should and shouldn’t be … Continue reading Our New Reality: Life On and Offline
Continue readingFollow Along With Me: Woodworking YouTube Videos
I have been putting off this form of learning for a while now, due to the fact that in other areas of my life, I tend to gravitate towards this form of learning. That is of course the humble YouTube tutorial. I have used it in some ways during my learning project such as, to […]

PSA: This post is going to talk about mental wellness. We all know why our reading week in February falls when it does and this year I really felt it. While part of my brain is always waging a war against me, I felt the battle raging this week. I had plans to film and … Continue reading Giving Myself Grace
Continue readingWhy not, Minot?
Ahhhh…. Reading Week. A welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday school and learning life. This week has offered some opportunities for catching up, reflecting and even a trip to the USA with my kids. Don’t get too excited for me – I live as close to Minot, ND as I do Regina, […]

╭────────────────────────────────»»❀❀❀««────────────────────────────────╮ “The painter has the Universe in his mind and hands” Leonardo da Vinci ╰────────────────────────────────»»❀❀❀««────────────────────────────────╯ Welcome everyone, Today, I am going to try and push myself outside of my comfort zone by creating a PixilArt landscape. Last week, I really enjoyed the ClipChamp program, so I am going to use the same video software to document my progress! As demonstrated in the video, I began by looking up various PixilArt landscapes to gain inspiration. After doing some digging on Reddit website, I found a link to an amazing blog, called SLYNRD, that goes through various tutorials such as animated, static, and mini PixilArt projects. It was just my luck that the author provided a landscape pixeling blog, so I had the opportunity to learn and follow along using only this resource. Although I want to say that the tutorial was easy to follow along with… it was not. Instead of providing a video, the tutorial was a continuous Patreon presentation on loop that could not be paused. The slides – having roughly 10 seconds on content each – moved far too quick for me to follow along and/or keep up with. If I missed a step or demonstration, I had to watch the whole loop again until I got back to that point. After getting frustrated, I just decided to stop watching the tutorial and try to figure out the process – specifically the clouds – on my own. Though I had troubles following the tutorial, I am extremely happy with how my project turned out. The finished product: Now, I want to try something new for next week… and I need your help. What should I create next?! Let me know in the comments below. Thank you so much for reading. Have an amazing week!
