“Now I know my ABCs”… but now what?

“The only normal way to begin speaking in a new language is to begin speaking badly” Greg Thomson After setting my intentions on learning some basic ASL for my learning project, I very quickly realized that it is much easier said than done. One of the biggest issues I faced right away was choosing what…

Scrumptious Gluten-Free Mixed Berry Muffins

For my first attempt at making something gluten-free, I wanted to start off simple; that is why I chose to make muffins. Muffins have always been a go-to within our house when we needed to make something that was quick and easy for breakfast or a snack. After looking up a couple of different recipes…

Assigned Post ‘My Experience using Twitter”

My first Twitter chat was very uplifting and helped me gain confidence. As a person who has never used these platforms for personal use other than for news updates was quite overwhelming. SaskEdChat was an excellent encounter for me. Time … Continue reading →

Ode to Joy; a Peaceful Week on my Keyboard

This week I started using the piano app I installed on my phone called “Simply Piano.” The app is actually pretty cool, I just open it up and put it as close to my keyboard speaker as I can and then play away! The app guides you along introducing you to each of the notes […]

Twitter as a Classroom Tool and #SaskEdChat

Can Twitter be used as a classroom tool? I have been exploring it a lot this week, as I am brand new to the platform. So far I have found it to be a great way to meet people in the same profession and make contacts for education. It is a great way to share […]

Green Apple Blossom: Week Three

Another week, another soap. This week’s focus was on marble soap. Marble soap is the blending of two or more soap colors. The video I used for this week was Marble Cold Process Soap (Technique Video #27) Soap Challenge, July 2020. The soap created in this video was actually a masterpiece! Another resource I used wasContinue reading “Green Apple Blossom: Week Three”

Three Ingredient Aloe Vera Soap

I did some research, and I found quite a bit of recipes for making aloe Vera soap. There were a lot of different ideas and suggestions, but for my first try, I found a three ingredient recipe. I thought that would probably be best for my first try. It probably is not the BEST recipe,… Continue Reading →

Chip Chip, Hooray!

I made two different things this week. First, I started with a no-bake graham wafer bar recipe that I got from my Grandma. It was smooth sailing up until when the icing would not harden. I kept adding extra powdered sugar to the icing mixture to thicken it, which made the bars veryyyyy sweet! After

What are the Benefits of Using Twitter?

I was not familiar with Twitter prior to this course. So far, I can already see how it can be used as a professional development tool. As for Twitter in the classroom, I am not quite sure how it could be utilized in the younger grades. Technology is used in classrooms starting in possibly Kindergarten.

A useful website when teaching music, especially in elementary, is #ChromeMusicLab! It’s great for experimenting with sounds and composition, and connecting music to math and art. And it’s lots of fun! #EDTC300 https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com
